the day started out late for the crew of the boat that i was working the deck on as the motel they asked for a wakeup from decided they wern't going to follow through so we met up at 530 and were u/w by 45 after 730 lines in and 815 the rod goes down SMOKING the angler runs to it pick it up and hits freespool wooosh baclash then yours truly takes wraps on the main line and holds a yellowfin thats trying to run with one hand while undoing the birdsnest untill it is all out and the fight was on we get color 20 min later and a 50 lb yellowfin is at the boat and straitened the hook ..!@#$##@ spread goes back out and 30 min later we pick up its twin 48lb yellowfin in the box then the water goes still and the waiting game begins picked up a dolphin and 2 more hours then the spreader bar dissappears and the 6/0 screams 15 min later color and then the wire and a 53lb yellowfin goes in the box 15 min later the dolphins twin joins him in the box and thats it so 2 hrs later we decide to pull lines and head to the barn. we clear all but 3 lines and as one of the anglers is clearing the lines a shadow emerges from the depths 5ft long and everybit of 200lb !@#$ BIGEYE IN THE SPREAD i yelled jigged the ballyhoo twice and the bottom falls out of the water and 2 sec of screaming drag and the hook pulls . so silently we truge back to OI thinking of tuna stakes and grilled mahi
