What can I say. During C&R caught 2 36" stripers and caught a 281/2" on the day after opening day, which I released.
Capitals LongCaster RockFish Challenge was a judge, meet so many great people, like Mark Edwards, Big Rad and K-Man, Larry Brooks just to name a few.
SPSP Clean Up - Just a good old time.
Neil Mackellow and The Capital LongCaster Going Distance III - Learned a lot
The SportCast USA National @ Crisfield, MD - Great time and so many great people, James WIlliams, Dan Reel and his dad, Tony Pendergrass, Mark Edwards, Larry Brooks, Adina Jones just to name a few. Best cast 430' with a 150 grams sinker.
And we still got half the year left and FLF fling @ SPSP on Sept. 11 @ noon.

Haven't fished as much as I wanted to, but had a good time each outing.
Learning to cast conventional at age 47 is a lot of fun, thanks Dog and Al, had a blast.
Fished Ocracoke for a week in the spring and waxed the Gray Trout with an old friend.
First fish in Kitty Hawk for the year was a nice Black Drum 6 or 8 lbs, I'm not sure we ate it, on a trout rod.
Fished on my birthday with my sons and watched the baby, 6, catch 8 Pompano all by himself.
Tournament season is just around the coner and fall fishing is going to be great.
Yep, good year.
Set a new PB for striper on th 3rd of Jan. Added 2 more 30"+ stripers for th winter.
Got my first big drum this spring plus my first Va striper over 30".
Now its summer and the fishing usally stinks but I have manged to not get skunked most times I go so thats a plus.
And the fall fishing is just around the corner. Yep, its been a goodun so far.

I put the best half I have ever had because to me it was. But, I feel it would have been better if mother nature would have cooperated a little more. I had an unbelievable spring run and now that it is summer work has kept me away from the water but I have had 2 excellent flounder trips in a row. If you put your time in 99% of the time it comes back to you. Now lets all hope the second half is better and everyones lines are tight!!! :)

last year I didn't catch anything , partly because i started up late, didnt have the right equipment, and I think last year just wasnt a good fishing year. This year I caught my first stripers , a couple over 30 inches. Havent hooked up with any blues yet but hopefully will get some of those soon. Looking forward to the second half of the year . Tight Lines !
StRiKeR
Cant complain only came home with an empty cooler once this year. Also had a PB in Striper and Flounder.

Well, thanks to my "career day" back in May, first limit out on AI, and PB number 1 followed by bigger PB the same day (I think the time Axon and Jas came down, and Jas caught a nice one also), my season has been great. Had the Jeep "blow up" with Clyde and Fred, but dang they nailed some drum that day, NS4D (the Bucket must have stayed home ;) ), had my spirit with him while the Jeep was down, and he learned the beauty of AI, I am lucky enough to wake up every morning, have a great wife, two healthy daughters a pain in the a$$ dog, so, nothing to do with fishing), but to be honest, AIn't we all just blessed. Life, it beats the alternative  .
Have Jeep will travel. :D

As Orest so nicely said....The folks my son and I have met have been fantastic. I have watched and been a part of this growing and sometimes dysfunctional family and I want to say thanks for having me :D . The fishing has been good. I also had a "career" day during the spring run. I caught the biggest fish of my life (so far). I've also been able to introduce some of my neighbors to the freshest fish they have ever had!
Shaggy..that's my dog, Orest is best. Bubba blue is no longer new. The fishing warriors and their hardcore ways Cdog, who helped me when I went down and didn't let on about the monstrous fish I lost, Hat the "ole salty one" C2H and his partner charging up the beach at the spring tourney, and Longranger who is tooooo smooth....MAN I just am glad to be apart of y'all :D

Considering that my year started in May, after a three year fishing hiatus, my year has only just begun. It's been a good one so far though.
I've caught some fish, but more importantly, I am just glad to be back on the water. It was missed.
This year has also been a good one because of the fellowship I have found on this board. The folks I've met in person have been more than Internet chums... more like real family.
To my fishing bro's that I've met, and those that I haven't yet... for your fellowship, your valuable advice and humor, I thank you.
And BR, I still feel a little new. :D
That's ok, I have staying power.

One of my better years in fishing. I've had a great spring striper run. Caught my first sizable black drum and spadefish. Got a new PB in striper, gray trout, triggerfish, and most recently flounder. Hopefully the second half will be as productive. My grade is a B.

NS4D, okay, that pic alone is good enough for the first half of the year to be AAAAA++++++ ( and the pic of Forrest aka AI4WD with the kids and DRUM, memories to share, and if you can send me a nice crisp one so I can print and get to him). Jas, AI gas, 30 bucks (minimum), food no bucks (you don't bring ;) ) bait $12 iffin you buy a flat (unless you throw in some peelers at a couple more dollars each), but that could be food too, hooks, lead, line a couple more. Your pic at Bucks
PRICELESS
But to friends I have met and those to come, year's been good to me.
Have Jeep will travel. :D

Just to let everyone know I didn't actually get the skunk at AI, but.....I didn't catch a single black drum during the black drum run there. So hence there is the pic....LOL

Good spring Rock run, but the somewhat thin and sporadic croaker bite is not what I had hoped for. Nice Dubs FL! Big Pimpin'.

only because I haven't had many chances to get out on the water this season. I believe I have been a total of 4 times. Did good with crabbing...just have had only 1 keeper fish so far...and that was an early season croaker. And it ended up as crab bait cause I didn't keep it properly cooled on the pier. I can honestly say I wasn't skunked either time. Thanks to the numerous under sized flounder that took the hook.
Cooler weather, less rain, and the arrival of Sept/Oct will find me on the water more. That's my hope anyway.
