View Full Version : It's Not About The Bike

I hear Lance Armstrong rode his bike whenever he went fishing, sometimes riding for hours to get to his favorite fishin' holes.
Do you think that's how he became the world's greatest cyclist, and the winner of six Tours de France?????????
If he fishes like he bikes there wouldn't be anything for the rest of us to catch. :D

as to how he's built up all that endurance is this.
Perhaps he'd heard of mass amounts of fish committing Hari Kari and he rode long and hard to get to the site. After all.....where else could one legally obtain steriods and keep a straight face when asked where they had obtained the banned substance. :D

It has to be something in the fish. They tested him before, and after, each stage of this year's Tour and found nothing. So, it has to be something in the fish.
I can't wait to see how fast I can push my pier cart once I discover in what species it's in. :D

Purchase a LiveStrong wristband and support the Armstrong foundation. Band costs $1 with all proceeds going to people around the world living with cancer. I saw a bunch of people wearing them at the O's game (or should I say 1/3 of a game) last night, including our group of 4.

Salty - Definately $$ well spent on the LiveStrong Wristband.
Johnny - You dont think Melvin Mora is worth some $$ to keep around? I think he is a great player and that the O's need to keep him around, along with Tejada. There are plenty of ways to get cheap tix to the O's games. Mobil runs promotions giving 2 free tix after 4 fill-ups, Friday night student tickets are $5, Free ticket on Wednesdays with a reciept for a Wendy's combo meal. It doesn't get much cheaper than that.

They might need to keep him around, but also need to get some better players all around. Let's see if they can get over .500 after #162.

Team W L PCT. GB
Yankees 63 37 .630 -
Red Sox 55 45 .550 8.0
Devil Rays 47 53 .470 16.0
Orioles 45 54 .455 17.5
Blue Jays 44 57 .436 19.5
The Redsox fell to the O's last night 4-1 which was nice to see since they got off to such a good start Tuesday night before the rain out. I hope they finish strong to. Maybe they will get the "big unit". Yeah right.

I'll be going to the business man's special on August 9 with a bunch of people from work. This will be my first O's game. I will be wearing my NYY hat in support of the AL East! Supposedly, Babe Ruth's apartment where he grew up is in centerfield. I hope O's fans aren't as sour as Red Sox fans in the same regard. Does the curse extend into Baltimore?

We burried the curse in centerfield with the Babe's apartment. Boston fans stink. O's fans root for the O's. I have 3rd row seats at Yankee Stadium on Saturday to see the Yanks vs O's. Should be a good time.

A French High Court ruled today that Tour Winner Lance Armstrong has been stripped of his latest victory in the Tour De France for using 3 substances banned in France.
Toothpaste
Soap
Deodorant

Tour De Funk instead.
Forget tossing the first ball out. I have a feeling Sandflea might give this thread the old chop unless we start talking about tossing rods out instead.
