Looks like it may be a nasty year for storms as we are already at Hurricane #1 this year.

Doesn't look like Alex will pack a wallop, but I'm sure the abundance of rain and wind ain't gonna help anything. I'm already seeing an abundance of rain, now this storm! Let the flooding begin!

Hope everyone down in NC on the OBX is doing ok, and take care. I know DB77 is camping down there this week and call me last night saying he was buckled down just in case.

last report I heard it going to miss the shore, but heavy rains and floods will happen I hope it doesn't get too bad down there.

"last report I heard it going to miss the shore"
Let's hope so. I think that's all relative - it'll miss me in VA Beach (except for the flooding) but not for the fine folks in our favorite fishing grounds. The storm surge, strong winds and rain will still have a large impact on the coastal beaches and homes/businesses in Cape Hatteras and vicinity with the eye just off the coast.

Izzie feels like it just happened yesterday. I hope everyone is safe during this quickly developing hurricane.

says Hatteras Village was hit a bit harder than the folks there had expected.

Izzy sure was a wakeup call for me. It's the quiet ones you have to look out for. Take nothing for granted....always expect the unexpected. That's the only advice I can offer.

this is the latest into a season without a named storm. And there are supposed to be 14 named storms this year!
