Here is the off shore report fer the charter,:CApt B.C" fer 8-9-04:
Beautiful morning fer a boat ride on the Gulf.Slight SSW wind,oceans where smooth as glass....too good of a day,not to be on the water.
Launched outta OI feeshin center @ 515am...CAot B.C is known to leave early and come back early.So,off to chasing feesh.......The crew consisted of the Grill Sergent aka the Mayor of Grandview and his 3 friends from work,me,and my neighbor,Glen.Drew the second spot fer the chair
Got to the Stream @ about 7am...beautiful emerald green water,and an even sweeter sun rise.
Trolled South fer tuna fer about 2 1/2 hours...Ballyhoo on plugs,Ballyhoo straight up....not 1 knock down....did have 1 of the baits bitten cleanly off,and per the mate,Rob,it was a Wahoo....
After having no success trolling the Capt headed North fer some grass lines.Trolled the grass lines with bait fer some possible Gaffers,no takers,but did see a lot of hook shy Dolphin/Mahi.
Feeshed another grass line,which I missed,due to my lack of sleeep catchin up to me.1 of the Mayor's friends caught a Wahoo on a planer.....missed it...They also tried fer some Dolphin,but no takers.
To make a long story shorter,finally found a school of Chickens that were hungry....the crew boated 14...then the feesh strted to get leader shy or full...Trolled north,back to the docks.Had 3 knock downs off of 1 possible white....that's what the mate saw.Had my heart racing since I was up fer the chair.....the Capt and mate did everything to try to get us on the fish,but guess the day was not not meant to be....but that's fishing!
BTW,did see DB77 and his misses @ John's....they were doing the same thing...enjoying there awesome Dolphin boats!
