View Full Version : Interested in a West Coast forum?
Hey, how many people here would be interested in a West Coast regional forum? If there's seems to be enough interest 'sand flea' might put one up.

I would love one but I don't think we have enough interest from that part of the USA yet.

I think it would be a good idea because a good bit of east coasters make trips to the west coast every year and would love some local information on spots to fish. But I think more people need to be "drummed up" to really consider it though. You might have to put the word out on the sand and planks over there lars.

There are some good west coast boards that could be linked to instead of starting a new forum here. Sand Flea may even want to trade links with a couple of the better one. I think if anyone is going to the west coast they would be better served by going on a baord that has many local members than by the few west coast member that may join this board.
I think I might be able to find a couple of the sites I use to visit when I lived there. As I remember they were mostly from Southern California. The same type of links can be set up for the Gulf Coast.
I must say though, that the links should only go to quality sites comparable to this one. There is alot of garbage out there I would just assume avoid.
Just another option for Sand Flea to think about....

I attended a business convention in San Diego a few years ago and I was wondering about the fishing opportunities. I didn't take any equipment with me and was quite dismayed when I found a nice public pier within walking distance of the hotel I stayed in.
I think it would be cool but I think we need to get the interest from the West Coast to make it work.

A "left" coast forum would be great. I, for one, have family there and spend three months a year out there. Someone mentioned the fact that there were plenty of sites already out there, but having a forum right on this site would allow anglers to see what's happening and still be with their existing fishing friends. What will it hurt?
I've just gotten started fishing the west coast surf and I'm still learning, but from what I've seen so far it seems to have a lot of unexplored potential. I'm sure that some interaction between the two coasts would be beneficial and P & S would be ideal in that sense. When I was living on the east coast I had trouble finding out about west coast shore fishing and I wondered why there was so little talk about it. It sounds like other people have had the same experience. I still feel starved for more west coast information. For example, it would be nice to hear about people catching stripers or salmon from shore in northern California or Oregon.
Hmm...there haven't been any replies from anybody who lives out here. I wonder how many west coast members P & S has at the moment.

With time, I think the west coasters would see the forum pertaining to them and interest would increase.
I think!

Wouldn't happen to be OB pier would it? Drop me a PM. I lived in SD for three years and fished the piers or when out on the party boats EVERY weekend. I can hook you up with some good info.

Sandcrab, I can't say that I saw the name of the pier. I was at a convention center with numerous hotels in the immediate area. The pier was fairly small, and extended parallel to the coast.
