God it is nice to have a competent
team/coach again!
Did anybody catch the Colts/Pats game
last week? I think that Peyton Manning
is the most overated QB in the league.
He ALWAYS chokes in the big games.
I will say that this last one was not
his fault, Mr. James gave that one away!
Those fumbles were unreal.

As long as Ray Lewis is part of that team,
I will never have any respect for them.
I guess that it is OK to have someone
involved in a murder as your team capt/leader.
And yes, he was convicted of obstruction
of justice. Do not even get me started on
Jamal Lewis!

Peyton Manning has potential of going to be as good and Dan Marino, who won possibly all of the passing record and failed to win the Super Bowl. But I would love to have him with the Redskins. Maybe Gibbs will make him handoff the ball instead of passing it and ocasioanlly a deep ball to Coles.
Go Skins

CrawFish,
I think that you nailed it just about right.
The only difference that I can see between
Manning and Marino is that Manning is more
apt to just blow up and single handedly
loose a big game all by himself, just
when they can least afford to loose it.
He has always been this way, even in
college.

Hello Orest! I like this new board.
I based it on guilt by stupidy...and being a
member of the RAVENS! That's nuff for
me. :p Seriously though, I have no idea
if he is guilty or not and never said that
I thought he was guilty. I just said "do
not get me started on him." Meaning I
would hope that he would exercise
a bit more care in the folks that he
chooses to hang around with so that
he would not even be in that situaton.
Kind of like the Kobe deal, we wil never
know exactly what happened, but shame
on him for being in that situation in the
first place.

Hello SaltyDog,
I am glad that you put my words in
quatation marks...Now please show me
where it says anything about "SuperBowl"
or even Playoffs. The only thing that
you will find is the word "competent".
Not great, Not really good, just...competent.
If you feel that from what we have seen
so far, (yes only one game has been
played, that we do not have a more
competent team/coach than last year
that is fine. But MHO is that we are
a more.....competent team.

SaltyDog,
To answer your question....Yes.
I feel that we will loose more than
our share of big games this year,
(the eagles make the hair on the back
of my neck stand up with all the
talent they have!) But unlike last
year, I do not think that we will
kill ourselves with let's say 3 consecutive
penalties whenever we get near
the red zone or close to a crucial
first down, etc, etc. That is the
main difference that I saw. I do not
mind loosing, that is part of the game.
But last year the play just made me sick.
Hey, which team do you call your own
btw?

How can you say the eagles make the hair on the back of your neck stand up??? OK, They have TO and The Freak And McScabb, But after that who do they have? Their defense doesnt scare anyone. There offensive line is banged up, and they have to prove the can sustain a competitve running game. the Freak has to prove he can stay healthy, TO has to prove he is not a cancer. They have a suspect secondary. There is no way they will get that much respect from me. Oh yeah They torched the Giants, The giants are picked by most analysts to finish dead last in the league this year. The eagles mediocre running game gave the giants fits. And McScabb and TO BBQ'ed the giants secondary, But who wont do that this year??? Wait until a proven runner like Portis goes against them, I see atleast 200 yds on the ground from him alone. The Eagles have high hopes that wont get them anywhere. TO will see to that.......GO SKINS!!!!

Master Caster,
You are putting me in a tough spot
here....I love the redskins, been a
life long fan. But, the eagles have
been the NFC East champions how
many years in a row now? UNTIL
we beat them, they deserve the
respect given to a division/conference
champ. NOW when we do beat them
this year, it will be that much sweeter!

P.S., While I respect the eagles, it has
to be mentioned that they are the

not as good since they cannot even
make it to the Super Bowl to loose.

The problem is, you can't make chicken soup out of chicken sh*t in one season. :D I'm not saying this just because it's the deadskins. I'll say it about any team that gets a new coach and players, to include Dallas. A team, any team needs time to play together to get to be any good as a team. With Gibbs at the helm next year the skins may be a team to contend with if Snyder leaves him alone but not this year.
The super teams of days past are gone forever. Salary caps and free agency have seen to that. Take any team from 20 years ago and they would kick the crap out of any of today’s best franchises!
As a Dallas fan you know how it’s been for the last ten years. You go into a game with a prayer on your shoulder and that’s any game. There are teams we have always had problems with. The Cardinals, Lions and the Rams to name a few but not Washington. For what ever reason 90% of the time the big D has been able to beat the mild bunch hands down. Go back and look at all their games, it’s a fact.
The Cowboys are not the team they were in the 80’s but their my team and always will be. In fact, any team that plays Washington is my team. As a good Cowboy fan it is my job to hate those @holes and I’m a good employee! :D
For years people have wondered why theres a hole in Texas stadium? Most will tell you it’s because we ran out of money but that’s not it at all. It’s because the Cowboys have many fans. Fans that stick with them in the bad times and the goodtimes. On Monday night I’ll watch that game from home with a prayer and hopes of victory over the deadskins. In Dallas a fan will be watching their games via the hole in the stadium, his TV. With him on our side there is no way to lose. He told me so, he’s a fan, a Cowboy fan and he can’t stand the stink of the Washington Redskins either! .....See ya on Monday Suckas! :) GO COWBOYS!.....Tightlines ;)

Sorry, don't know of any "Felons" on the Baltimore team, yah, was a die hard Baltimore Colt fan, went to USFL games here as well as the Canadian version, I am just a football junkie. Now as a real Colt fan, grew up hating the skins (and skins hated colts) just the way it was. Do like the Terps, but locally, its GO NAVY!
Now the way I look at it, Baltimore has always been the bad guy on the block, Cooke didn't want us to get a team, Indy took ours, we tried to get one the "right" way, and were blocked, so, guess Baltimore did what they had to do. How long did it take Cleveland to get a new team, or Houston for that matter.
Maybe jealousy in that the Lewis guys (I assume they are what one so democraticly call felons, even though innocent until proven guilty).

From the AP Wire new report:
I have faced fourth-and-one a lot in my life, and my team knows I would step up. But when it’s fourth down in life, you don’t know what to do in that situation,” Lewis said at the Ravens’ training facility in Owings Mills, Md.
“When the police approached me, I gave a false statement to them.”
Lewis and two of his friends were charged in the slayings of two other men, Jacinth Baker and Richard Lollar, on Jan. 31 outside an Atlanta nightclub following a night of post-Super Bowl partying.
Lewis avoided a possible murder conviction by pleading guilty Monday to a misdemeanor charge of obstruction of justice and agreeing to testify against his two co-defendants.
I stand corrected! Ray Lewis did not
get convicted of a felony. He only plead
guity to obstruction of justice in the
murder of two innocent people and then
coped a plea with the prosecution to
turn on his friends for a lesser charge!
What kinds of friends does this man have?

Don't know, and as best to my knowledge. Ray AIn't a felon. Now, granted, Ray may have been in the wrong place at the wrong time, and granted, me, lot's less money than Ray, but even without the money, been there, done that, and probably so have alot of P&S ers. You know, never killed anyone, never scared of "real" friends, but never had enough to risk either. Now, to Jamal, phone conversations, no "actual" drugs, but he is a "felon" in most eyes. So much for innocent until PROVEN guilty

Orest,
????????, so then you are saying that
every NFL player who takes a cheap
shot or NASCAR driver who retaliates
or instigates an incident is the same
as Ray Lewis being involved with
a murder and then lying about it?
Cuz that is why he was charged with
obstruction of justice, he tried to
cover up the murders!!!! Then
he lied to police about it, let's see
I think that lying to police officers'
who are in the process of conducting
a homicide investigation is just a tad
more serious than a NASCAR road
rage.

09-29-2004, 02:11 PM
OK, let's take a poll:
How many P&S hang out with thugs
who commit homicide?
I think that even die-hard ravens fans
would have to admit that the actions
they would have taken (by not being
there in the first place with thugs aka
friends) would have been just a tad
bit different.
P.S. Who said anything about drugs?
If they get caught, boot them out
of the league and arrest them. Is
that the same as being involved in
a homicide????? Is Ray Lewis in the
same class as Ray Carruth? Heck no.
Is he a lower class of dirtball then
the average NFL drug user? Heck yeah!
They can do as much harm to themselves
as they want. As long as they do not
harm others. Who said Jamal was

news all you hear from the family is how
it is not so and so's fault that he killed
someone. "Why did the police have
to chase him, he was only high on drugs
and had a gun, he wasn't a threat to
nobody", "Why did the police have to shoot
him, he was only firing his gun into the sky
on the 4th of July". While there are
legit cases of media bias, there are far, far
more cases of people not willing to
admit the guilt of friends and family.

Orest, yeah your right, trying to
hinder a murder investigation is no
big deal. I am sure that he did nothing
wrong and just admitted to a crime for
the heck of it.
Don't believe it! Even though he
admitted it.

Sometimes I crackup when they say he wasn't a threat......Yeah right......I just want to give everyone a chance to change their evil ways  At the same time cases are tried in the news media. Folks like you and me convict em before they get a chance......

Big Rad,
I will admit a little bias. If certain facts
like the individual was on drugs, had a
gun, was running from authorities while
on drugs or carrying a gun, can be proven,
I tend to not really care what else the
person has to say to try to justify their
actions.
