Hi all, I'm doing a bit of polling on braids and which to purchase....so far from exploring boards, I've seen some bad comments on Spiderwire stealth, generally good for Power Pro and Tuff Line. Who is using what here, adn anyone care to comment? Just trying to see if there are any other lines (good or bad) I should be aware of......)

I am using Power Pro green 15lb test spooled on a Penn 460 Liveliner on a Fin-Nor 8' surf rod. Seems pretty nice for a beach walking combo.

The braid should be put on tight and you still get wind knots, and casting knots from time to time. There is an excellent couple of pages of instructions for using Power Pro in each box.

I've had good luck with almost no windknots.

The line seems very consistant. I've been using it since it hit the market. No complaints on knot strength. All my spinners are spooled with it,some have been spooled at least 2 yr old and still good, the line gets plenty of fishing time put on it too.. It ain't broke so no need to fixit.. :D

The varity of true no stretch "Spectra" lines available at retail ( Spiderwire, PowerPro), etc have lead to great deal of bantering among Anglers over the past decade. Leading Most current anglers to believe theres advantages over products like Dacron more commoningly refered to as trolling lines ( Green dot, ie). Theres actually little effective Quality differences in most outside of lb test ratings and marketing of these products as with so many similiar tackle/lure items, reality is the difference is generally undetectable other than die colors. Many anglers that have become aware of this, concern themselves more with using rods that have the quality of eyes that can withstand the cutting effects of the line as it passes through the Guides. Others with issues surrounding the rod blanks design and whether it will load up for power casting with-out breaking the bank/Blank. Some others concentrate on whether the line will damage the reel spool and how to overcome the slippage around the spools interface if it lacks a spool pin to attach the Line knot to. Those lacking them tend to Cut through or become line bound, a reverse of "birdsnesting". Others with How and Which knots works best adding mono shock leaders or tippets to the Spectra's terminal end to which you would attach your Hook/s and or Lure.

I've used both spyderwire and power pro. Not really much difference except line diameter. Power pro seems smaller in diameter than the spyder. Spyder is easier to tie. Power pro is really knot sensitive. If you don't read and heed the instructions on power pro, you will have a problem. The ability to feel what is going on at the fish end of the line and being able to use smaller reels because of line capacity makes them a winner for me. I'm sure the others are just as good as the two I've tried.
