get one made. find an old natrual gas tank or something similar and have a metal shop fabricate it for you.
I gotta oil tank on the side of my house that I don't need anymore. Its yours if ya come an get it. Don't laugh, I knew a caterer and thats what he used. He cleaned em o coarse....

local meat packing company. I had to rent one for a BBQ party and that was the only place I could find them. ;).....Goodluck!
the half drums are great for that, get a welder to create an actual grilling surface, or buy a pre-made one, seen alot of ghetto-rigs on big bbqs it wont be all that hard to make it work, if ur around richmond, i might be able to give u the name of a guy that welds and it would prolly be pretty quick work

Well I ain't gonna burst your bubble on building one of your own but here is a small list of what ya might need. A small trailer to mount it on, a good drum or oil tank that isnt rusted threw, hinges for the lid, a grilling surface big enough, a drain plug, vents welded into the drum, at this point I think your getting the idea. I am not saying it cant be built but it aint no 1 hour job, I know I build stuff for a living but now on the other hand if there is anyway I can help a brother out let me know. :D

Just depends on "How" big, and what you'll be cooking on it.
Buddy of mine (next door neighbor) in Florida knew I wanted a smoker to use with just wood, came by on a Sat. with an old drum (I think it was 90, 110 gal, something like that, he did oil recycling from junkyards/etc) , and some scraps in his truck. Bet me a couple cases of beer he could build me one, and have dinner going in less than 2 hours, sounded like a deal to me
As you see him with the smoker at my back door sliding the beginnings of his winnings in a coolie cup while cooking the virgin meal :D

Anyway, you get the idea... and this thing was big. Used a 30 gal drum for burning the wood down, then just shoveled it in the big boy as needed
If ya want to get a deal, now is a good time to call rental places that are looking to upgrade for the new season!!!

I saw one for sale on Va.Bch. blvd yesterday. It was in the parking lot in front of an engraving place. It is located on the blvd. between Rosemont and Lynnhaven.
