Are any of you fishermen/ladies into wooodworking?
I'd like to find some one to share info on tools and techniques. I have the wood bug again, after being away from it for 28 years due to career demands. I have recently purchased a shop full of equipment and plan on making some saw dust soon. :)

Someday I'll get back into it. I've got a complete wood shop where I used to do custom cabinets. Haven't made a cupfull of saw dust since I bought a boat 3 yrs ago. Thinking about doing some custom cabinets for the small galley area.(?)

I'm in the middle of getting my sons Baja VW going, DMoss is going to help me complete it, then its time to clear out the garage for my equipment. I'm looking at late May before I can get rolling with the shop. I'm going to redo a few electrical circuits and point up some bad drywall in the garage. Then i'm going to redo the lighting.
I want the shop/garage clean clean :)
I just bought:
1.Craftsman 22114 10" table saw
2.Dewalt 12 1/2" 3 blade planer
3.Craftsman 6 1/8 jointer
4. 1 hp dust collector
5.Porter cable 694vk router w/30 bit kit
6. Mibros 8" dado set
7.14" Grizzly bandsaw w/6" riser kit
I already have:
1. Dewalt 706 12" miter saw
2. Dewalt palm sander
3. 18 gauge and 16 gauge porter cable nail guns
4. Milwaukee 7 1/4 " circ saw
5. Most basic hand tools
I'm well on the way to a nice little shop and would love to share or aquire some knowledge from you guy if your interested.
I'm looking at starting with some "mariners" clocks and some book cases to help store some of my good ole books.
PM me when you get a chance and we can discuss some possible get togethers.

Over the winter I started building plugs.
Back in the fall I cut down some gum, cedar and pine trees, debarked them and stacked'em to dry.
The Gum is dry enough to work with and I'm building a rocking chair. It will be my prototype for the cedar that I will use once I fiqure out what I'm doing.
The pine trees I cut down and debarked...I cut into 6' lengths 6" 's in diameter. 8' lengths 4" 's in diameter for a split rail fence that I'm going to run down each side of the front yard.
There was a show on PBS awhile back called "Alone in the Wilderness", It kinda inspired me.
I want to build some wind chimes outa Bamboo but haven't been able to locate any stands of live bamboo. I need to find one and get permission to cut so the bamboo can start drying out.
Waiting for the wood to dry is the hard part but with it drying now....after Striper season I'll have something to do to maintain sanity till spring ;)

I believe there is a stand of Bamboo along Rt 17. I know I have seen some going to one of the new sub divisions. I'll make sure I keep an eye out for you.
I'm almost positive its along 17 north some wheres before the Jame river bridge. Because I remarked to my work mate that I was surprised to see bamboo around here.
