I love surf fishing but it is getting hard to catch fish. I am thinking real serious about getting a boat. I think the barrier islands of Virginia might be the answer.

I think all this cold weather is just getting to you. It'll get better.......just hang in there. But i'll look at some of that gear if you do buy a boat.

Surf fishing is not cheap, can be tiresome, and does take a lot of patience. On the other hand a boat is not any cheaper, is real tiresome, and takes a lot of patience also. It is a win-win situation!!!! :D Good luck on the boat hunting but just remember where your roots are(sand). Tightlines!

Carefull with that boat thing, it'll consume you. :D The happiest two days in a boat owners life is the day he buys it and the day he sells it. I haven't reached that second day yet, having too much fun spending way too much money on it and catching way too few fish. Now I looking to buy a second boat so I can get into shallower water but I'm still going to be dragging one foot in the sand. :D :) Good luck with the boat.

I've got a 25' Pro Line WA with a 225 Merc 2 cycle. With gas @ $3.00 per gal at the marina I can go 33 miles on $100.00. Add to that $15.00 for oil and another $20.00 for bait and ice and you're up to $135.00 for and average day's fishing. Now that I'm retired I'll be fishing 3 or 4 times a week. Ouch! So any time you guys are in the Baltimore area you're welcome to go out with me. Just drop some $ in the tin cup for gas. :D Military on active duty fish for free. ;) Just bring a sandwich or sub and a cold Coke for the Capt. :D
