Hey everybody, what's up? Just wanted to introduce myself. I'm a 21 year-old female in the Navy, and I'll be down here in the Charleston area for 2 years going to Nuclear Field School. I don't know jack about fishing, except that I enjoy it. I haven't been since I was a kid, but I'm hoping I'll have enough free time to get back into it and maybe go fishing with some of y'all.

Welcome to the neighborhood and family, all I know of the Charleston area is around Beaufort, SC, me usually fish on Fripp Island, but private, but you have Hunting Island National Seashore and the public pier there, right before the bridge to take you onto Fripp. Tybee may be a bit closer for what you may be looking for, and, you may do better to copy this and posting on the South Carolina/Georgia board. Hope this helps.
Also, and I do apologize, thank you for your commitment to serve and protect, not only me and my family, but all in this great country. We all know freedom, well, it AIn't free, but thanks to the men and women proudly and honorably serving in our armed forces!
But, as I said to begin, welcome.
Have Jeep will travel :D

From an ole salt to a new salt, welcome aboard. Being in the norther portion of the board cannot give you any information on South Carolina, but I am sure the basics apply and would be more than happy to help there if possible. Again welcome and "don' let your had float" ..salt shaker

You can fish at the pier at Folly Beach and at Isle of Palms.
There aren't many members on this site in the Charleston area, so tehre will be few reports. most of the people that fish in the Charleston area are on boats. I belive you can freshwater fish on the NWS at Goose Creek. Just watch out for the alligators.
