Weve been going out and getting our limit trolling lately, mostly south near 72a and b, but i feel kinda bad cause when ever where there all the other boats are chumming up there fish. We stay as far away as possible cause we dont want anyone saying were stealing there fish. Anyways we havent really chummed yet so we wouldnt know where to start, I know some of the basics but if anyone has links to chumming help or info they want to pass on it'd be appreciated. quick report too. Went out wit nephews and oldest brother today. Found our limit near the gas docks with out trolling. Second time in 2 weeks birds gave it away. Sure at first they were all under 16 but when I switched to 2 oz crippled herrings and let them sink before retrive we picked up 18 to 22's but still no blues. Someone is going to have to let the cat out of the bag or adjust my spread because we need some bluefish pullage. What size in-line sinkers do you use on youre spoons and how long of a leader? Any tips. I normally use 3 oz and a 10 ft leader of 50lb mono, with 15 to 18 tonys in a variety of colors, do I need to go down on mono size, I mean we still get rocks with the spoons so I wouldnt think this would be a problem for blues which feed more aggresive. Back to the the chumming, anchoring, drift, hold rod or can they be in rod holders,I have enough baitrunners to use them, weights on main line or drift large piece's of bait, all the G2 you guys can please or links or books I can research on my own just point me in the right direction. Thanks

I'm wondering where Catfish got all his Blues, but they did say dardk colored surgical hose eels which always produced in the past. I still think you need to troll deeper. I'll write you about chumming later.

Go deep for blues and you'll come up empty handed. :D If you really want to learn some secrets sign on with Capt. Wayne Morgan out of Deale. He's a great teacher. :)
