SCA Texas is teaming up with Bayshore Baptist Church/La Porte
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I spoke with Pastor Dr. Mark Redd on the phone a few mintues ago, offering SCA's help with feeding the 150 hungry folks his church has taken in. We have a large BBQ pit on the way there, and just as soon as I hear from the lady coordinating the food, I will know more. What I do know now is that they are needing the following items.
Monetary Donations for Fresh Foods, Needed Items, etc. Air Mattresses Sleeping Bags Cots Bedding Towels Paper/Plastic Plates and Cups Styrofoam Cups Plastic Forks, Spoons and Knives Paper Towels and Toilet Paper Baby Food Baby Formula Diapers and Wipes Non-Perishable Foods Snacks Drinks Bottled Water Soap and Shampoo Toiletries (Deodorant, Toothpaste, Tooth Brushes, Shaving Cream, Feminine Items, etc.) Cleaning Supplies Laundry Detergent Basic Medications (Advil, Tylenol, Aspirin, Cough Medicine, Bandages, etc.) Games, Puzzles, Toys, etc. Books, Magazines, Newspapers, etc. If you would like to donate uncooked meats such as brisket, chicken, sausage, etc. please bring fresh, dated and wrapped items to the church.
SCA is planning to man the pit until Monday evening and we will be needing volunteers, fresh meat, ice chests, and more. Once I hear back from the lady coordinating the food effort, I will have more specifics.
The church is located at 11315 Spencer Hwy, La Porte, TX.
The phone number there is 281-471-0332.
Let's help these folks out.

SCA Texas is teaming up with
Bayshore Baptist Church/La Porte
The Saltwater Conservation Association of Texas has joined forces with Pastor Dr. Mark Redd of Bayshore Baptist Church in La Porte to feed and supply for 150 or more folks from Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama who have been displaced by Hurricane Katrina. SCA is arranging to feed these 150 plus people lunch and dinner Friday and Saturday, and collect donations to help support the church as long as they have these visitors. We are accepting donations before hand through our members and onsite. Please feel free to come by and visit and drop off anything you want to help these people feel at home. All donations will go where they are needed and all money will be used to help the victims of Katrina. We have no operating fees and we are spending our time and money to make this happen. We are a true non-profit organization.
Here is a list of a few of the items needed:
Monetary Donations for Fresh Foods, Needed Items, etc. Air Mattresses Sleeping Bags Cots Bedding Towels Paper/Plastic Plates and Cups Styrofoam Cups Plastic Forks, Spoons, and Knives, Paper Towels, and Toilet Paper, Baby Food, Baby Formula, Diapers, and Wipes, Non-Perishable Foods Snacks, Drinks Bottled Water, Soap, and Shampoo, Toiletries (Deodorant, Toothpaste, Tooth Brushes, Shaving Cream, Feminine Items, etc.) Cleaning Supplies, Laundry Detergent, Basic Medications (Advil, Tylenol, Aspirin, Cough Medicine, Bandages, etc.) Games, Puzzles, Toys, etc. Books, Magazines, Newspapers, etc. If you would like to donate uncooked meats such as brisket, chicken, sausage, etc. please bring fresh, dated and wrapped items to the church.
The church is located at: 11315 Spencer Hwy, La Porte, TX
The phone number there is: 281-471-0332
I personally would like to thank you ahead of time for any donation you can make. Also all donations are tax deductible at full retail price. Ask for a tax form at time of donation.

God Bless You!!! And many many many thanks to the Texans for taking in the refugees from Louisiana. We all need to do our part. I am literally exhausted from getting 2 hrs sleep per night making phone calls for folks trying to contact their families, loved ones, etc. and then working 10-12 hour days. However, that pales in comparison to what the Gulf Coast folks are going through. At least I have a nice place to sleep, A/C, a phone, shower, electricity, water, etc. PM or email me and I'll donate what I can. We all need to dig deep! Larry
