View Full Version : Car pooling for Fishing

I just read on a couple of other boards that folks won't be fishing as much because of the high gas prices. How about we start sharing the rides? If someone were going out they could post where when and how long they planned on staying, and those willing to share the cost of gas could tag along. Sure you would be at the mercy of the driver but hey, this aint no scene from Deliverance :p . Seriously though I know I have met and fished with quite a few of the Maryland crew and I know that I wouldn't mind tagging along or transporting to the hot spots as the crop up. We could even rotate the rides. My beast just drank 90 bucks worth of regular!

Hey, I'm game if you are. I would like to take a trip to fish a party boat in NC sometime in late September :)

Sounds good. Throw a few guys up front...then stop by the NHTSA facility and have that "Crash Tested". I'm sure it's good for a 60 mph frontal impact. Looks solid to me :D :D :D

Clinder.....LOL! No, no motor on the back! Guess if it were foam filled it'd keep the guys rig afloat if the tide came in on em!!! :D
That's a rack I fabbed for a guy in Delaware that fishes Asseteague Isl. and the Outer Banks. It's alittle iffy on being legal to drive at night as the rod-tubes are pushing towards the center of the light-beams.....but I made it to the dimensions he wanted for a 162 qt. Igloo marine cooler. There's pics of em on the beach he posted on Stripersonline's website. Guess he made it ok.
And oh.....he carries most of his rods on a roof-rack (the longer poles) until he gets on the sand.
See ya on the beach!!!

Yeah Id Love To Be In That Thing Goin Down The Road With Some Twelve Footers Fully Rigged In The Rod Holders In Broad Daylight Though So People Could See Me And More Importantly Not To Startle Anyone In To Crashin Into Me In The Dark!!!
