To the Moderators, Have you guys ever thought of or ever come close to putting a chat room on the P&S site? I think it would be a hit.

The idea has come up several times in the past. I can't tell you why it never panned out, but it hasn't.

$...just a thought...chat rooms got bugs etc that cannot be protected against...its a hard thong to do...

I don't know about that Rattler - there are a lot of scripts allowing for IRC to be integrated with the website.
