View Full Version : Fishbites should be called Fisherman bites!
I see many folks talking how great these fishbites are and maybe I'm old fashion, but nothing is going to outfish live bait in my book.
I had one guy tell me if we were standing side-by-side on the shore that he'd out fish me with them. But I'm convinced, especially since I've had some very good luck this year, that fishbites are just hype.
Consider this...
Live bait generates movement that fish key in on by their lateral lines and site. They have scent. They are natural. If you buy them, you paid too much (invest in a cast net.)
Fish bites...
Immitation cut bait that costs too much per bag. Easy to use. They have scent. They may last longer on your hook.
So are fishbites all hype? Did fishibites do a great job in advertising ... especially through these boards? -- nothing sells better than word of mouth. Did the some people just get reeled in? Or are they worth the money?

Blood werm FB's.....vs the real thing
$10.00= fer the real thing...if not taken cared of or dropped in water=dead....just dropped $10.00
$7.00 - $8.50= fake werms...but the feesh don't seem ta care.....keep em in there bag,put em in yer pockets ,keep a bag in yer tackle box...keep em in yer car.....jus as long as ya don't get em wet...They las t 4ever //////get some 8lbs test ,(2-3) 1/0 long shanks...a lite takle rod n reel...
I carry some of the other flavors...but blood werms seem ta be the ticket fer spots....which are great when yer fishin fer bigger game...
Yeah ...Mike @ Fish Bites needs ta get off his toush an start payin ta advertise :D

thing any day and twice on Sunday. I've only been skunked once skunked with fishbites - they are cheaper, go farther, are less messy and you know you're going to get the same thing with every package. That's not to say I'll never use cut or live bait again - Their crab and shrimp baits don't do that well for me and for croaker I'd just as soon use peeler soaked squid as opposed to anything else - but for spot, perch, an occasional croaker, whiting, etc - fishbites bw is one fine bait. The real test for me will be spring rock season when real bw's have been the ticket. I'll bring along both and see which works best.

Well this will certainly get an abundance of opinions, but here's my take!
I am a big fan and firm beliver in fishbites for many reasons.
1) Price is not bad
2) I can store and re-use my bait without having to worry about freezing/unfreezing. Heck I can keep them in the car.
3) Not messy
4) THEY WORK! I have personally caught Spot, Croaker, Grey Trout, Speckeled Trout, Pufferfish, Black Drum, Flounder, Blues, Pompano, Bluerunner to name a few! I also know a few people on this board who recently caught some nice pups off of them as well!
Hey it's all a preference, but I hooked as of now. I'm sure there will be times when the real thing works better than Fake Bait, but I have had great luck so far with the FB's (White Crab is my #1 choice, then BWFB and Green Shrimp).
Just my 2 cents! :D

I've never used the BWFBs by themselves, but when I tip my jigheads and bass assasins with them the bite always picks up. I'm sold, too.

Order from their website. I did it a while back, placed the order on a Friday and had them Monday afternoon as I recall.

I love the FBs. I hate real bloodworms ... and frozen squid.
Using FBs, I've caught pompano, specks, weakfish, black drum, spot, croaker, roundhead and several incidentals. I bring some with me every time I fish ... and just about always land fish with them.
But I've seen fresh bait work better than FBs on several occasions. And I've never seen someone using FBs out fish those using live bait.
Yes, FBs work very well. They are cheap and convenient. But, IMHO, there is nothing better than fresh bait to catch fish.
Let me tell ya, it sucks when the person next to you is catching with fresh and your bag o' worms ain't workin'. Unless. that is, you have a NTKG who cleans fish for spot heads. ;)

fishbites don't die, stink, or bite. if you've ever had a fat bloodworm bite you, you know what i mean.

Back in the day, or maybe today for some of you, you probably kept a rubber in your wallet.
Were you planning on using it that night, probably not, but you had it with you just in case.
Same goes with BWFB. You keep one pack in your tackle box. So if you run out of bait, or forget to get bait, etc. You will have something to fall back on, even if you are not planning on using it
As far as FBBW not working. Well I have never, with the exception of Trophy Rock season, use only one bait. If you put all you are using the one bait that the feesh aint biting the one u got you are screwed.
Plus if worse comes to worse you can use it to catch some bait fish for fun, bait, or if worse comes to worse dinner.

FB stay on the hook much longer. you can catch several spot on one piece of bait compared to the real thing where you have to change bait almost every fish.

Fished BWFB beside real Bloodworms this may at Hatteras and outcaught the real thing...Outfished real shrimp, fresh cutbait, and bloodworms, rods side by side, spiked in the sand, casted as close to the same distance as I could, IM SOLD.....Ill admit I had some clam strips but they didnt work by theirselves...BWFB by themselves out produced 2x1 when I was there.
