I try to take my dog with me every time I go, on the boat or on the beach. Nothing passes the time better when the fish are on strike than my Jack Russell chasing the waves or digging for fun or hearing the clicker going off and comming and sitting beside you waiting for the fish and when he see's the fish in the water trying to catch, scale the clean it for you. I love my little fishing pal.

I'd take may dog with me, Boxer/Black Lab but he would eat my bait, my rods etc. See the thing is he don't know he's a dog. ;) ;)

I would love to take my Lab fishing, but she will not come out of the water when I'm in it much less out of it! She will sit there and swim around me non-stop till I catch a fish then go diving for the fish as I release them back.
When she's in a boat, she is constantly trying to get out of it so she can get in the water!
What can I say she's a lab!
my dog gets unfriendly about other people on the beach its kinda wierd

My rat terrier is too much of a spaz to take care of himself if I'm trying to fight fish. I can only imagine how many lures out of my tackle boxes he could get caught up with.

a buddy of mine is dating a vet, and she said every year they get a few dogs in to have hooks removed from their mouth. Evidently alot of times when somebody catches a fish the dog runs over and wants to pick it up and play w/ it. :(
As for me, I'd be afraid of a fish eating my dog, not the other way around:

I'd take mine fishing, but she doesn't like fishing. Now, if I had a dog instead of a girlfriend, that'd be a different story. :D
Hopefully she doesn't read this forum or I'll be cut off for a solid month.

my dog is too stupid to take fishing at the beach anyway.he for some reason likes to drink salt water as he swims.....AND.ever since my friend and i put him in the kayak and pushed him down a snowy hill he hasnt liked boats either.turns out our views on cold weather fun are different :D oh and hes probably the only dog afraid to walk on a kitchen floor.every time he tries he falls right down cuz hes shakin so hard....
