Hi all, I've been pointed in this direction from an Irish fishing site, hopefully someone hereabouts can help with my query.

I've promised Mrs Tanglerat a trip to Canada, probably in June this year. So now I've to sort it so's there's loads of fishing available.....:D

Thing is, I have no info/contacts/recommendations on Canadian angling. I could just Google it and book something, but first-hand personal recommendations are priceless when it comes to fishing.

Given my way, I'd be off to Kenya, Namibia, Costa Rica or somewhere like that, but it's gotta be Canada for her.

I'm looking for an angling adventure, so I don't mind much what kind of fishing it is. Shore, boat, fresh or salt. I just need someone who knows his business and puts me into fish! :D Not madly expensive would be pretty good too.

Also, not somewhere out in the wilds too much. After all, this is supposed to be Mrs Tanglerat's treat, and she's not into angling.

Anybody help? Thanks all.

check out www.walleyecentral.com and look in their discussion board under canada. you will find lots of reports and info on many types of camps/trips.

if you want BIG fish think manitoba northern pike, for numbers of walleye consider lac seul, for real adventure look for a fly-in in northern ontario.

i fish at www.happydaylodge.com not so much an adventure but it fits me to a T.

good luck,
jerry

They are not ocean adventures but are in the view is incrediable... Very nice landscape up there....

I can tell you about the fishing in Saskatchewan. I mostly only go carping now (and June is good for that). I do lots of overnighters and save some holidays just for fishing. If you want a crack at a 30 or 40 wild common this is a pretty good place. (but you may have to go through a pack of smaller ones first... my pb's 30). Other species are here too of course. If you want any info on the Regina area attractions just PM me and I'll try to help. You could rent a van or car and let the wife go wherever she wants and meet up in town when you're ready!:D

both place to remote for your Miss.

First I went was to Chapleau, Ontario and from there they take you by boat to a 10 acre island and you stay in a cabin.

Second time we went to White Lake / White River you can see Indians and feed wild birds from your hands.

A co-worker here has done this trip and says it was great.

White River used to have a sign that proudly proclaimed it to be the coldest place in Canada!:D It's also near the Hemlo Gold Mine, I think. You never really said what kind of fishing you want to do, and so the possibilities are endless. Check out www.myfishfinder.com when you have some time and see if that helps. If you want the three M's*,you really have to go to B.C. or Alberta (no carp in Alberta, but great trout fishing on the Crowsnest and they have trout right in Calgary in the Bow River.

*3 M's are... moose, mountains, and mounties.
If you want to see fricking mounties come to Regina, we make them here.
