WITHOUT RESEARCH WHERE WOULD WE BE? I SEEM TO RECALL ANYTHING DONE TO THE HUMAN BODY FOR STUDY SUCH AS AUTOPSY,MEDICAL SCHOOLS ETC WAS CONSIDERED BLASTPHAMY BY THE CHURCH PUNISHABLE BY DEATH. LOOK HOW THAT CHANGED. PEOPLE DONT WANT DISEASES TO KILL THEM OR A LOVED ONE BUT THEY DONT WANT TO GO THE EXTRA MILE TO ACHIEVE THOSE RESULTS. ALOT OF WOMEN WOULD JUST DIE IF THEY KNEW THAT THE PROTEIN IN ALOT OF HAIR PRODUCTS CAME FROM PLACENTAS:eek: SOMETIMES ITS WHAT YOU DONT KNOW KILL YOU.;)

Yes I am all for it. If it can save one life or find a cure for one illness then as long as recovering the stem cells endangers no one then not only should we do it....it should be mandatory.

Hopefully after GWB leaves office the next Pres. will fund some research.

Me no problem with it, but think it should be up to private dollars, since eventually the technologies would bring about new drugs making them the profits. Not against abortion, since legal, personal attitude is other, but not for state funded abortions. Figure there are alot better uses for tax money, and no, welfare AIn't one of them either, but am sick of people relying on the government to FUND projects with my money.
Yeah, can see it now when Hitlary :--| is the prez and clinton is first man, that would be a hoot, scarey, but a hoot!
But then, she could take some money from her insider futures trading and help fund some of her pet projects.
And for the record, vote both Republican and Democrats everytime I vote, just hate the hill and bill show. :--| Though obviously others on this board have hight praise, they must have gotten out of the markets at the top of the irrational exhubernce, not after the bubble burst

NIH does some real good work will say, but seems now many places including Johns Hopkins I believe are doing research on stem cell with private money. Maybe it's time for the government to get out, and let private institutions do the research, funding and patenting. Granted, the more research being done the better, but at what cost?

the good and bad of TSR is obvious...if we get the good, GREAT...the bad will always be there...but if it will help people...go for it...
