Wow we need some fish

With everyone asking my opinion, gay adoption, assisted suicide, abortion, arabs buying us ports, and what not hell by the time I respond to all of them I probably wont have any freinds to fish with LMAO........hope that is not the case but I bet we could have some good conversations while waiting for that big one.

All I can hope for is some warm weather and some fish because if this goes on much longer we will all end up hating one another LMAO. Please no more questions on moral issues lets ask some fishing questions please.


How about this: for flounder fishing should you use a gudgin with a long piece of squid on a plain hook or should you dress up the hook with bucktail, malar and spinners i.e. some kind of flounder rig? What is more productive.

well typpically i like to use a 1/2 -1 oz jig head in chart. witha dark body grub w/ a bright tail in the 4 inch flavor and i often sweeten it with a thin strip of squid

the 1/2 chart. jighead is great early in the year when the flatties are in the shallows and feeding on smaller baits. that paint really gets there attention. when the season gets hot and heavy, i'll be putting up the light tackle this year and going for that paper. i'll have to get a pic of some of the rigs i tied to use on the yak.

Carolina rig, 3/0 circle and anything alive seems to work for me. My favorite in this order.
finger mullet
small spot
gudgeon
strips of cut bait
chartreuse jighead and grub
squid strips
I never dress it up just bait and hook.

Here are a few rigs i've tied up over the past few months. The first one is one of many i'll be using to drag live and cut bait, the others i'm going to 'drift' with fishbites or larger live baits. Ofcourse the 1/2oz chartruese jighead is my go to selection... tipped with a gudgeon, maybe a strip of bait on top if the fish are finicky or the water is dirty.

chartreuse speckrig wid a gudgeon or some cutbait/squid works every time unless im lazy then i switch to a fishfinder widsome live bait what ever is availble will work but i will pick spot or gudgeons before anything a nice live peanut bunker never hurt either

flounder will eat old mullet, squid, and blue just as fast as they'll eat a flounderbelly... your waistin a good meal or cuttin' up short fish.
