Couple of thoughts here. The owners with money are looking for the championship, or maybe trying to buy one. Now, is GE stock worth $30 or $50? If one can get the big bucks, and one must honor the contract (hear me T.O?), then nothing wrong with the suply and demand,

What pisses me off is the A$$holes who sign, have a big year (hear me T.O.?, okay and some others), want to renegotiate. Now, if that is fair, then the owners should be able to renegotiate down, after a bad year. Oh, but the union wouldn't back that idea:eek:

Have Jeep will travel :D

Where does all of the money come from for the paychecks? Owners strike deals with big corporations for advertising space. I'm sure the league distributes some of the TV money and merchandise revenues to the teams. Anyone else have any ideas?

I wonder how many people that said they would never go to another baseball game again when MLB went on strike in 1994-95 and have kept true to their words.

I don't mind that they get paid that much money. That is the profession they chose to make their money in and should be entitled to what it has to offer. Is there a little bit of jealousy? Sure. I get myself injured every Saturday playing rugby, and I have to pay for my own equipment, water, travelling expenses, women... I'd like to be sponsored for some of that stuff.

In the end, the money comes from you and I. You pay 3 bucks for a bag of doritos (that cost 5cents to make), the NFL and FOX charge millions to doritos to advertise during the game.
