Hey Henry, my old boss was Crew Chief Master Sgt or something like that in the AF served in Vietnam. And he told me that's like one of the heighest or the heighest of E's. So haw far away compare from where are you now?

My pops made Chief Master Sgt. He worked at Andrews most of his career, and he also served in Vietnam. Then he went to work as qaulity control on airforce 2.

Hiya Tap! I haven't had the pleasure of meeting you yet, but wanted to say Congrats on the great promotion! The only respect worth having is EARNED respect. I'm a former AF guy, & my daughter (Warrior Princess) is in the AF now. Thank you for everything you are doing and all you sacrifices. Wish only the best for you and yours.:D

I don't want to get my facts wrong on this then. I am going to call him and make sure I am not telling stories out of school. I know he is Chief Mst Sgt. Maybe, it is Air Ntl Gaurd? I would hate to have this wrong, and tell you all something false.

Served in Vietnam. Retired with the highest rank you can recieve. But maybe there is somehting to that. Can't be in the top 1%.

Not the my pops don't derserve to be there! Cuz in my eyes he does...For that matter any man who serves our damn country and is good a man as he is deserves it. Just don't want to get it wrong. I remeber being there for the ceremony and all at andrews.

CMSgt (E-9) that is as high as
you can get.

That is a huge accomplishment. By law,
only 1% of the entire enlisted force
can be a CMSgt.

Don't you AF guys get to wear a Hawai`ian shirt as a uniform when you make Chief?

:D :D

:D :D :D One funny thing is that all of
the services are getting thier own
new style of BDUs now. The one that
they came out with for the Air Force
actually looked waaaay to close to a
Hawaiian type chamo pattern. We
scrapped that one. Now we have another
one coming out.:) :)

First off Thanks for serving our still great country and just as important we are very proud of you for earning the rank of E-8 Sargent Major. A lot of folks don't know not very many make that rank and you have done it in 15 years say's even more about the person you are.

You are not allowed to buy the first beer,,, that will be my honor.

A lifer, sorry could not resist; good show. Made E-6 in 4 1/2, but had a critical afsc, and not too many guys wanted to be sheepdipped and stationed where we were.
Would have remained if Macnamara would have drowned in his hair grease, and Westmoreland would have been forced into early retirement, before he lost the war. Always wore the real tiger stripes, instead of the hot as blazes flight suits. Came home finally, wearing my only pair of 1505's, Things have really changed, but as I look back would have done it all over again.
Hope you get the 2nd top stripe before your 30 is over.

Way to go Henry!!!!errr Senior Master Sergeant!:D I know you deserved it! Just missed the DA board for selection to E-7 by one month so should be able to get picked up on the next one in two years. When I come visit I wouldn't mind taking you up on that beer and repaying you with one from myself.
