If you could pick one beach to fish for an entire week in the months of June, July or the first week of August, what beach would it be?

Think of a place that you will catch fish and is somewhere between the end of the keys and Norfolk (US side of the little pond only).

So how about it, where is the best place to fish that time of year?

Gulf Side of Key west. Not because I've fished it, but I certainly would like to.

Second day-Ocean Side of Key West.

Third Day-Would look at the fishing photos of Hemmingway at Sloppy Joe's on the main Drag in key West.

Fourth Day-Would Take My fishing gear to the first available Nude Beach on Key WEst. Probably wouldn't fish much.

Fifth day-BAck to the Gulf Side of key West 1/2 Day only. Second half of fifth day would be spent back at Sloppy Joe's to see if I missed any of the Fishing Photos of Hemmingway.

It's a tough life, this traveling fisherman thing.

Except for June you are on the wrong side of Norfolk. North man north. Fish even know that.

Hook-
Don't know about that...when I was last in Key West, there was an incredible number of good looking women there...fortunately , I was with one who accompanied me on the trip...

But what the hey...this is fantasy......You go the Gay Nude Beach if you want to!

I realize that, now just convince the rest of the family that they can still have fun in the sun up north and I'd be set. But unfortunately the perception of my family is south is better. Were doing St. Andrews this year. I'm guessing another week in the hot sun next year. And the year after that we'll be fishing up in Jersey or something. But I'll wait until at least 2007 to plan the 2008 vacation.

No, it will be the family vaction for 2007. The little lady is already leaning towards Marathon, Florida (about the middle of the keys) as our neighbor owns a house down there, http://www.vrbo.com/86840 . But just because she wants to stay there doesn't mean we will on the family vacation. Maybe a long weekend without the kids or something and then I can decide which beach we stay at to fish, um I mean enjoy our family vacation.

Are you saying to try Juno Beach for fishing or for nude gay men? Or better yet, nude beach with women instead of gay men?

Do you know if they have camping at Cape Hatteras National Seashore Park? Is the fishing good the summer months?

Samurai-

Like I said...bad day fishing is better than a good day working. Love to have a bad day fishing on your beach!:)

I would probably fish the inlet and the bay side at the south shore or jones inlet.

BTW rob....

Florida in June , July or August can be very opressivem heat wise. You probably already know that.....

But in My fantasy posted above..the weather would be a refershing 75 or 80 degrees and it would be tempered by the sea breeze while fishing.

In the real world, in June/ July would be somewhere around Ocean City Md. Ocean City has a public pier that is at the end of the Boardwalk and the fishing is OK there at that time of year. August it would be Stone Harbor NJ for a Week. Good Crabbing at the Municipal Dock and Surf Fishnig all day off the Jetties near the inlet on the Ocean side. Nice town..clean..and usually nice and quiet.

Rob, beginning of June is typically when the cobia show up. Sea mullett and pompamo should still be around with spanish and bluefish on metal at first and last light. After the cobes leave towards the end of June I dont go back till fall.

There are serveral campgrounds including two Park campgrounds. Will be more expensive but have more facilities at the non Park campgrounds from what I have been told.

Would you happen to know the name of the campgrounds? I looked around and only one park campground and it was a little farther down from Buxton.

And thanks for the help.
