So yesterday I went bass fishing at local lake and while jigging a tube bait I hooked a branch. I was able to move it through the water slowly and get the branc just about to shore where I could reach it and like an idiot I pulled my rod back and as I reached for my line it all of a sudden went limp. Thats when I realized I snapped my rod in half. It was an older Shimano rod that I bought as a combo back in 2000, 6'6" medium action rod with a Shimano Sedona reel on it. So now I'm in the market for a new rod for that reel.
I checked out the Shimano Convergence rods last night and I think I may have found one. It's a 7' medium/light action rod rated for 1/8-1/2oz(I think). Pretty soft tip on it and it seems like it would be perfect for specs and maybe flounder.
Has anybody used these rods before?
