Just wanted to hear some opinons on old Joe's comments about Ricky Williams playing in the CFL for Toronto.
The quote was "I am embarrassed to have worn that 'A' on my helmet, to think that they would stoop to this level to sell tickets, to bring in someone who is not worthy of playing professional football. He has insulted professional football players, he has insulted professional football, he has been suspended from the National Football League, he doesn't want to play, he's going to a place where his value will be limited,All that said, Ricky is not a bad kid - he's just done bad things to a sport that I love. And it's a damn shame that the Toronto Argonauts would not show a lot more class and pass on somebody who has been a repeat drug offender. To me, it's an insult to guys who put on the uniform."
Not sure if Joe made the comment to increase his exposure due to the fact he will be the new color analyst for MNF, but Im not sure if he was right or wrong to say what he did. One could argue that singing Ricky is saying it's ok to use illegal substances, or, one could say that the man has a right to earn a living and that we can't stop him from playing in anthor country. Now as a Skins fan myself I like Joe but I didnt see Joe making comments about one of the best DE's ever in Dextor Manley who had a problem with the white powder, not the kind on doughnuts either.
Where were these comments 6 weeks ago when the deal making began. Its not like this wasnt out there the whole thing was transperant. There are alot of other players that have done worse, like murder that are still playing somewhere? Whats you guy's take?

Great point about Dexter, Joe wouldn't got a ring without him (or the drinking Riggo). I think Joe is mad becuase of the way Ricky kind of fluants it but Joe is always looking for exposure / attention. Then again, Joe might be sending a message to his kids that had similar problems.

RICKY MESSED UP BAD AND IS GRASPING AT THE ONLY CHANCE AVAILABLE. BESIDES THEY HAVE A FEW DRUG OFFENDERS ALREADY ON THE TEAM AND HAVE NO MANDATORY DRUG TESTING POLICY UP NORTH. HMMMMMMMMMM:rolleyes: AFTER PROMISING TO RETURN TO MIAMI FOR 2007 HE HAS TO MAINTAIN FOOTBALL SHAPE HOW ELSE AND TO GET PAID HALF A MILL TO DO IT MUST BE NICE TOO.

Joe still has the stereotypical "quarterback syndrome".... you know, I'm not getting enough attention, let me do something to get people to look at me!!!

I grew up a Skins fan. I used to skip school to watch the Super Bowl parades. I love the skins but hate Joe. He would never make it as a football player in today's game. Too small, weak arm and too large of an ego. But that's all beside the point.
There's a book out that was written by a VA Beach resident on divorce - this lawyer represented Sherry Theismann during the couples divorce. Here's an excerpt from the book:
He represented Joe Theismann's wife in a divorce case that revealed the NFL star told her he committed adultery "because God wants Joe Theismann to be happy."

And all this time I thought Joe was gay.
