That guy didn't ditch any parachutes. Looking at his harness, he has a standard military rig with main and reserve parachutes. The wings are cool, though. I'd like to try them. The United States Parachute Association prohibits using rigid wings while skydiving, but the military has their own rules. A bunch of guys died using rigid wings back in the barnstorming days so they outlawed them.
