Well, It's not even 8am on a day I should be fishing, and already I'm going crazy...I have hatched an idea that could be of some use, or could be totally ridiculous...Y'all tell me.

It's a standard double drop, with mini light sticks secured by bits of aquarium air hose....

I think it would work pretty good. There are so many things in the ocean that bioluminese that it shouldnt scare anything away. So the courisity factor should bring them to your bait. The trick may be finding the most appealling color for the targeted fish. Anyway let us know how it goes. I just checked on ebay and you can get a hundred of them for about ten bucks which aint to bad.

I have never used any of those in saltwater but have unsuccessfully tried them in fresh for Trout and bass. Couldn’t buy a hit. Every other lure I tried I got fish on. Inserted one of those (I used 4 different colors) in a spoon that is made for them. Nothing.

Sure hope it works better for you than it did for me. Please post your results.

Went shark fishing and did not catch any but used plastic bottle and glow stick in it as a float and watch it carry out in the out going tide at Sebasitan Inlet. The glowing bottle was easily watched and glowed very bright. Anyway weeds got on the line we did not see and caused the line to come in to the rock and pilings with out our knowledge. When we tried to reel we had broken out lines and the floating bottles were right next to the pier about 20 yards out. After we relized that it just chewed up about 100 yards of mono rubbing off the rocks and such we saw something... Don't know what kind of fish but something was attacking the glow bottle. Was not big enough to grab it but sure made a bunch of splashing. Quit then came back to give it some more. So this is long winded to say hey it might work....

i've tried the glow beads...hit them with a camres flash and the shine like the sun...got trout, flatties ,blues, spanish, etc. at night...saw the guys in MI using glow cleo spoons and a camers flash...worked there...so i tried it when i moved back to VA BEACH...you never know unless you try...

where do you get the small glow sticks?

Wal Mart sells them in the bobber section. They are actually replacement glowsticks for the glow in the dark bobbers, but the pack comes with 4 sticks, and 4 tubes in case you want to connect it to your line.

When I used to shark fish I always tyed a green glow lifejacket light to the rig along with a couple of wrenches that would bang together all night.
Caught a lot of sharks, not sure if the light or wrenches worked but it didnt hurt..
