OK, I need help. I've always been a fresh water, catch & release bass fisherman. Son and I now have a good size boat, want to head out to the sea. Wow, almost sounds like a movie. Anywho, will hopefully be hooking up to flounder, stripers, etc. Whats the best bait for both, from both bridges/etc, that's what we're doing this morning. Had to buy all new rigs, so hopefully I bought the right stuff. NEED HELP! Sounds like this is the place to be.

I do not know much about fishing up that way but Ill tell you how I'd fish if i were targeting both stripers and flounder. Rig up like you would a carloina rig and use maybe a 4/0 just a guess cirlce hook and a big enough egg sinker to hold bottom. Drift over some kind of structure like a hump or some other kind of change in bottom contour. Use a small live spot if you can get any. Like a 4 inch live spot. Probally be a good bet for stripers and definatly a killer for BIG flounder. If that is not possible I do not really know what to use squid and live minnows also make great flounder bait. Good luck and you are in a great place now with A LOT of great info
