Evening Headboat Trips

Hi guys,

I was thinking of going on an evening trip on a headboat out of va beach this week. I've never done it before and am wondering what type of fish they are catching now. Are there any bass left in the area? Or are these bottom fishing trips? Drifting?

Also, what type of rod and reel would be ok to bring?
