What is the difference between the Abu Garcia 7000C3 and the Abu Garcia 7000 Big Game. I am looking for a new reels and these two reels keep getting recommended.

For casting I would get the C3:)

Maybe the C3 is for casting and the Big Game is more of a boat or trolling reel, I would get the C3 so it can do double duty.

The Big Game Has Brass side plates. (Black reel)
The 7000C3 has 3 ball bearings and a 4.1 to one Gear ratio. As does the older Big Game. A 7500 BG would have 5.3 gear instead of th 4.1. Both have brake blocks.

They have a newer Big Game series (Gold color) that I have not heard much about(not a good sign).
