Due to bait stealers, my shrimp are gone real quick. Just wondering how many off you stick with mullet or other baitfish because of this?
alot of people complain about that. I stick to em' as much as possible because of the all the differant fish that will take shrimp. Stick with fresh shrimp, do not put too much on the hook, say cut a small shrimp into 3 pieces instead of using one, and of course keep a tight line. If ya feel em' taking your bait, and no hookups, well that will just happen at times. You might want to go to bloodworms or squid....

How you hook shrimp makes all the difference.A typical shrimp has four sections(or knuckles).Cut the head off & split the shrimp in 1/2.Peal the shell off one half of the 2 knuckles.Run your hook thru the side with the shell, turn the hook & run the point & barb into the soft(pealed) section. Most fish are lookin' for that soft sandflea & will go after the soft side & whammo-your hook point is right there waitin' for it.This tactic really increases your hookups. This method will keep the shrimp on well, even in rough white water.
If I had to choose one bait it would be shrimp as almost anything (as hifu stated)in the ocean will hit on it.;)
