Big talk coming from a guy who
was going to bet against his team last year.

We may not have won but we are
there through thick and thin.

Yep we stunk the joint up and I already have determined that we were "hyped up" again and that we will probably be 8-8 at best. I know its a team game and its probably unfair to call out individual players BUT so far Andre Carter has not been heard from. Our O Line tackles could not protect Brunell very well, our secondary should be called tertiary without Shawn Springs (which one man should not a secondary make) We still get little to no pass rush without a blitz. Our receiving corps are excellent providing they can get the ball. They were open (from the limited tv angles I had) but Brunell either was on the run or did not have the confidence.

The Vikings are better than people believe and Dallas is no slouch either but our schedule is full of tough games liks this.

That being said they are still my favorite team, have been since I saw george Allen prowl the sidelines.

Hail !!

NEVER EVER pick against his team,

"Let's see, taken 4 for the team, and well, edited post, got a quarterback for sale? Besides more of the tailgater than the fan, and sometimes reality sets in then it take people like you to just have me swallow hard, hope for a miracle, stand up to the plate and be an idiot, picking the boys from B'more.

Just figured that YEAH, the way I been picking, could use the point, this WAS about me, now, I am coonfused, sacrificing the me for the team, against all odds, sh!t I may be stupid, but if it saves face, and though publically root, then, hell, I may as well pick'em

Now you want to talk smack to true
fans?????

Yeah, you are a strong fan...
when the times are good!

Ah, but when betting, and money is on the line, you need to take "emotion" and your heart out of it, or else just toss your money out the window as you are driving down the highway at 65mph. So, yup, when betting did bet against my team, and when I did won more times than lost. Now here, no money on the line, went with them all the way, after being shown the "wrong of my thinking with nothing on the line". If I hadn't, even when knowing the probability of losing, especially with no spread was greater than a chance of a win, did stick by them.

And, even when I bet money against them, well, while in the stands or watching on the tube, always had small hopes for an upset. Last year, no quarterback, no offense, well intellectually speaking, knew, the chances of losing, especially straight up, were the better bet. Couple of key defensive injuries, and the probability of losing increased exponentially.

Therefore, nothing on the line, no problem, money on the line, well, prefer winning money than games.

Also stated my concerns with the team the last few years, especially the lack of a quarterback and an offense capable of scoring, and was resigned to so so seasons. Now, may be a good time for the skin fans to open their eyes, admit they saw 98% of the offense, and resign themselves to a so so season.

That said, offense still hasn't shown me much in the red zone, and if that can't get straightened out, don't care how good the defense may be, it can only win you so many games.

Shocked we are 2-0, no, surprised, yeah, expected more from Tampa Bay. But so far with 1/8 of the season under our belts, and Cleveland next week, well will enjoy while I can  , but then it gets rough, San Diego home, Denver away, Carolina home, Saints away and Cincinnati home. Be an interesting 6 weeks (we have a bye between Carolina and New Orleans). If we can sneak out 3 and 2 or better, then it could be a real interesting season. Unfortunately the second half of the season will give us Pittsburgh twice, Atlanta, Cincinnati again, KC and the Bills, with another with Cleveland thrown in. ME realistically going into the first real test stretch, figure 10 - 6 possible but that is assuming after game 8 we are 6 - 2.

Shaggy, all of us kins fans knew that we
had two of our starting secondary out.
We knew that Clinton Portis was out.
We knew that we would be playing at
Dallas with all of these key players
gone....what do we do? We say
the heck with it and pick them anyways.
That's what true fans do. If memory
serves me correctly, your "team"
won the game in which you sold them
down the river.;)

Actually, and don't know where ya found the thread, but believe ya'll talked me into going with Baltimore, with nothing on the line, may be wrong, but betting wise, well, won more than lost going against them and the spread.

man... I'm in one of those football depression after pathetic showing by the Redskins. My observation from last night's game.

Defense
1. Andre Carter has been a disappointment. Only thing impressive about this guy is his 4% body fat.
2. Archuleta is a decent player but I think we over payed him. Ryan Clark would have been cheaper and he had more chemistry with Sean Taylor.
3. Linebackers couldn't cover anyone. Tight ends were beating them consistently.
4. Corners suck period!
5. Why does Greg Williams defense look so blend this year? I don't see the blitzes nor the aggressive nature I saw previous years.

Offense
1. Brunell looked old and he wasn't stepping into his throws. I thought Al Sanders offense was a timing offense where you drop 3 or 4 steps and throw without any pauses. Brunell looked hesitant and there was no timing in his throws.
2. Offensive line was just offensive. Jon Jensen is overrated.
3. Santana moss and Randel El look real fast!! One positive.
4. We miss Portis more than we thought.

Special Team
1. Coverage was horrible on kick offs and punts.

I'm a Redskins fan thick and thin but I just wanted to make my observations so others can chime in.

so, how does one go about resolving a burden soul after their beloved team looked like sick rockfish gasping for air? :(

Last few years adult beverages helped, but was only a temporary fix. Prayers for a quarterback helped, and well, contrary to popular belief, hope, well hawever small. Sat in the stands too many times, didn't fish and watched on TV when away. But the best part of the last two or three years was the tailgating, both before and after the games, but yesterdays aftergame tailgate party was a bit more enjoyable.

Defense wasn't blitzing because our corners aren't that good. They can't leave them to dried out there if they don't keep a safety or 2. As for the offense, well the running wasn't there and Brunell can't carry the team w/ his arm. It's hard to run w/ 8 men in the box and was harder to pass when the defense was in your face more of the drop back. We had more success when we run the ball well to set up our pass. That how Priest and LJ did in KC.

Bottom line, there are lots of improvement needed and we still have some time to do so. If Brunell doesn't show up next game or 2, expect him to ride the bench the rest of the year. If we can't beat Houston, we oughtta do defeated the rest of the year to secure a spot at Brady Quinn.

Loosing two starters in the secondary
has just killed us this year. Now Greg
Williams is forced to play back instead
of blitzing and playing man-to-man in
the secondary. Our offense is not the
same without Clinton in there.
Injuries have been crippling this year.
Very similiar to what the Eagles went
through last year. I am a huge
Brunnel fan but I think his time has
come and gone. It's time to put
Campbell in there and let him get
some much needed experience. ;)

Yes, putting off the inevitable Campbell decision any further cannot help the team. The Houston game next week would be a great game in which to get his feet wet. I guess Gibbs had to give Brunell a chance after winning the last five games of last season, but basically it should be clear the guy is over the hill. True, the offensive line didn't give him much time to pass, but when they did, he couldn't get the job done. Enough already, Gibbs!

We didn't think so and were calling Boller, Boller, and that got us where?

He had no teacher, no mentor. Now with McNair maybe he can grow and mature as a quarterback. Be first to admit we had to and needed to rush Kyle, and he wasn't ready.

Guess that could be why teachers today are more important and influential than geniuses. Just my guess. Anyways, you toss a young one into the game, with the rare exceptions, before he is "ready", and for a season or three or more ends up a bad experiment with the same results year after year. I know have lived the football life without a QB, , and it's no fun. To sit and hope and know in order to win the game the defense will need to score more than the offense.
