Happy Early Birthday To ME!!!! My brother-in-law (and my sister) gave me a new rod and reel before I head to Garden City in October! It's a 9 ft. Berkley Lightening Rod with an Okuma Corobado CD 65! Can't wait to use it - now I have to decide what type of line to put on. I'm trying to decide between 20 lb yellow or 17 lb green. Any suggestions?
I am getting quite the arsenol! Now I have a 7 ft ugly stick, 8 ft tsunami/Daiwa sahara, 9 ft Lightening Rod/Okuma and a 10 ft tidewater! Not bad for living 6 hrs from the beach !!!

stuff and Ebay late at night is like a drug:D as for your line choice...All depend on where you will do most of your fishing...If you fish around alot of rough stuff...Go with a line that is made for that...(Ber-big game, Hi-Vi Green is what i use)...if you are fishing where you won't run into alot of stuff then any other line will work....Yellow VS Green..I use both and the green seem to light up at night alot better. IMO let us know what you got, and how you did....good luck:cool:
I'm not really sure where I will use this rod. It depends on how crowded the pier is - can use it there at night for sure - not sure about during the day. Normally use the 10 ft for the surf. I am sure I can put it to good use somewhere!
I'm always like a kid with presents. My birthday is not until Decemeber - just started celebrating a little earlier than normal this year! I normally start celebrating/reminding people about my birthday the first of November but I will accept gifts at anytime! :D

Hey Britt!
Nice present indeed. I'd go with what Clay said. With that Hi-Vis green, it really helps to see the line. That Sufix is great stuff... Oh, by the way, Happy Early Birthday!! ;) :D

I would stay away from 20 lbs, 15 or 17 lb mono is just fine; might even go with 12 if your not targeting anything really big.

OK to my defense, some of the things wrong in my first post were simply typos, but unfortunately I got some of my stuff completely wrong! The good brother-in-law read and corrected me! All I know is that I catch fish - just unsure of what I catch them with!!! :D
It should read:
Brittany's equipment:
1) Berkley Lightning 9 foot surf spinning rod with Okuma Coronado CD-65 baitfeeder reel.
2) Tsunami Trophy 8 foot surf spinning rod with Okuma Eclipz 50 reel.
3) Shakespeare Ugly Stik 7 foot spinning rod with Okuma Avenger reel.
4) Shakespeare Tidewater 10 foot surf spinning rod with Okuma CD-65 baitfeeder reel
Thanks David! :D
