I used to belong to this place along time ago,but forgot both my name AND password.Figured I'd register again.I also bought my first conventional setup today..an Abu Garcia 7000C3 paired with a 10" Tica rod..the guys at Lighthouse Tackle were a big help..Any body with any pointers?I can handle a smaller baitcaster with no problem,but it looks like I may need to adjust some!..Thanks in advance

If you can throw a small baitcaster you should get the hang of it in no time. With a Abu if I remember right the spool tension is on the left side plate. Snug it up a bit but not too tight to start out with and loosen it as you get more comfortable with it. Good luck.

Welcome. Thats the one of the same outfits I used to Striper fish below the Dams you will love it. Use 40lb mono backing 300yds 65lb Power Pro 25lb mono leader and your in for a treat. When you get use to it clean all the grease out then oil it with Quantum Hot Sauce. One other thing get you a spare level wind Pawl and keep it with you if the level wind ever gives you a fit that will be it. 5 minute repair and back in action. Good luck and tight lines.
