Awesome idea will be great for surf fishing at night also. You may not have the $$$ for a patent but you might want to consider talking to a patent attorney and at least get some type of documentation. No point in someone else getting rich off of your idea.

i came up with this idea last drum season(2005) when every one had those lipstick lights(bow light) screwed in to the front on the metal band on the reels .but i had put it were it would shine on the line and when i found the 10mm red led it just will not go there .

i may or may not have be the first to do it but i did come up with it on my owen so if you did some thing like this well great minds think a like:cool:
