Had one in need of repair given to me. I'm going to send it back to Penn for repairs. Probably going to use it for bottom fishing since it seems to big for tossing lures. I may get two rods for it one for the beach and one to use on a boat. I'm looking for off the shelf items to avoid higher prices.

Go with a 12 ft uglystick its good for chunking from the surf. That was 1 if my first combos.

tehre are several ocean mastersthat would work for surf chunking, check them out
the larger ugly sticks are not good surf rods, very soft tips and stiff butts, sure they may never break but tehy dont cast well IMO

Would that reel be good for tossing lures on a 9 or 10ft rod? It seems to big a reel for that duty. I already have a 525mag with 11ft Tica for chucking 6nbait. If I get a heaving rod for the Penn can I get good distance out of a spinning?

IMHO, the 750SS is a bit too heavy for tossing lures.
As for use on a heaver: I have a Penn 850SS – slightly larger and heavier that the 750SS - on an 11 ft TiCA UHEA, possibly the same rod as yours. I have some rotator cuff problems in both shoulders that affects my casting technique. Spooled with Calcutta braid, I throw a consistent 375 feet with that outfit using 5 oz on the practice field. Using a braided line will help recover the distance you may have lost compared to the 525Mag.
