FYI.

Just got the latest sale flier from BPS.

They have their 30-qt turkey fryer kit on sale again for $29.88. Normally $49.99. Comes with the big pot, 12" thermometer, utensils, propane burner and regulator.

I got one of these last year at that price and it's great! I don't fry turkeys, but I've used it many times this year steaming crabs, blanching corn, frying fish, blackening anything, you name it. I use it a couple times a week when I want to keep the cooking stank outdoors.

I have a couple of home made propane Cajun cookers from my growing up days in Florida, but I like the burner on this one better. It's real stable.

Great price what what you get, IMHO.

I don't use mine for it's intended purpose either. Though I have fried a few turkeys, usually after injecting them, I just don't like the moist meat. I prefer my turkey the old fashioned way, dry..with a fork full of stuffing and cranberry sauce to juice it up. Those big fryers are great for camping out fish frys though.

Yeah, I'm not into going to all the trouble for fried turkeys either. Toss it in the oven, take it out, eat.:p

I should've been more specific about how I use the cooker. I don't use the big pot very often. (Crabs, corn, etc.) The cooker on the other hand is very handy. If you take the side pot guards off it'll hold any pot/pan you own.

I like cast iron. Use a big dutch oven for deep fat and a big frying pan for blackening.
