If you wanna spend the new year on the couch.
Cant go wrong with jewelry.

The rule at my house is no electrical appliances or sporting equipment. If you have already bought her a chainsaw, I would recommend taking it back. So gas tools are the same.
Like the man said, you can never go wrong with jewlery. The more you spend, the better you are.:D

Oh, BTW. Don't ever, ever, ever, ever believe that "all I want is to be with you" stuff for one little second. Sleeping on the couch over New Year will be the least of your worries.

Jewlery is a good thing. A day at a spa would be nice.

I like the old one-two approach. First, you get her a set of hand towels, and when she's fuming, hand over the...
wait for it...
new toaster  :D :p
J/K. Get her a gag gift, but also some nice piece of jewelry that fits in a small wrapped box you keep hidden in your pocket until she starts giving you that look (). At the right moment, you whip out the little wrapped box and BLAM...putty in your hands ;) But then, I'm just a poor single man trying to make it in the world, so caveat emptor :D

Bingo on the spa idea. Gets her out of the house long enough to wet a line as well. Don't underestimate the womans love of being pamperedhttp://www.covers.com/images/emoticons/an_light.gif

Look her where she keeps her girlie stuff and find the cologne bottle that is nearly empty and get her one of those. mid range stuff cost around $40 to $50 per ounce. She will be amazed at how much you know about her.
Day spa is a great gift: Massage, facial and pedicure around $135
Jewelry - Tennis bracelet - start around $100 and go up to several thousand.
I would wrap any of the above in a set of hand towels - the old double wrap gag gift.

When me and the ex got engaged, I put an empty ring box inside of a bigger box and so and so on covering it with hand towles. Needless to say she was not pleased. It was fun while it lasted though.

You Take The Kids And Send Her Shopping With A Lil Wad Of Cash Or Giftcards And Let Her Upgrade Her Wardrobe At Her Leisure While You Hold The Fort Down For A Day. When She Gets Home Have A Nice Dinner Ready For Her Or Have Reservations And The Two Of You Enjoy The Evening Together W/ A Lil Quality Time. Just Be Sure You Also Put Something Under The Tree That She Can Open Xmas Morning As Well ;)

I usually like to give jewelry-though most of it has stayed in a safe deposit box for years. My wonderful wife of 30+ years ALWAYS says "I don't want anything" . Nice clothing I've bought also gets returned, even when it fits-because "I don't have any place to wear it". (We're not frequent participants at hi-class parties, concerts, etc.) A couple Christmases ago, after hearing the same stuff over & over, I gave her 5 $100 bills in her card to get something nice for herself, and was she ever Pissed! This year think I will go with a beautifully wrapped small box, containing an electric nose hair clipper, to be followed up VERY quickly with a nice piece of jewelry. Even if they don't wear it much, seems to be the best idea. She's not too much into fishing, although we do go fishing together, & she has enough fishing stuff any way, & not into shooting, like me, or I'd get her a nice Glock 19, which I'll probably get for myself, since she won't buy it for me! (She is under the misguided impression that I already have enough guns in my sorry little collection). Good Luck All! And Merry Christmas!!!:D ;)

Probably oughta stay away from Fredrichs of Hollywood also. I tried that once, it wasn't a pretty sight.
