I fish the jetty. Not risking using anymore baits such as shrimp, sand fleas,etc..only tough bait from now on on my hooks. I loose too many rigs in the rocks. The little sea bass or snappers take it the moment it hits the water. What are other's thoughts and tactics to avoid this? I might try casting way out today...don't know if the little bait stealing fish are as prevalent out there too in the deeper water.

Ya might want to give some of the baits from Berkley Gulp or Fish Bites,,, they are tough and stay on the hook and almost as important they catch fish.

heck yea dude i agree with bmcox86 if you r usin pinfish or larger finger mullet those sea bass or little snappers shouldn't mess with ur bait (its almost as big as they are) too much and u will catch bigger fish too.
