We throw out the word communist easily to label governments who oppose ours. Mao was our ally in WW2 and we backed a warlord by the name of Chiang Kai Check after ww2 and he got chased to Taiwan and of course we backed him against the "communists". Ho Chi Minh was educated in Harvard and studied the Apache Indian and wrote the book on modern guerilla warfare. We backed the French who didn't want the country after the rubber plantations were found to be worthless due to synthetic rubber. Guess what. The US government was involved in that also. The chinese people always seem to get the short end of the stick. The british gave them opium and of course you all know about the boxer ""rebellion"". They actually make good products, especially those that are hand labor intensive like fishing equipment. Americans are good at inovation but poor on quality products due to the high cost of labor. How are we gonna compete in the 21st century? I dunno but I think we already had a "quality" thread on this forum. I guess our good ol Government can keep on using the ""patriot"" act to find illegal aliens and throw them out. Alf better watch out. Hell my son is waiting to start a construction project but the illegals are afraid to work and some areas of the work aren't getting done. Wrong thread to be on my soapbox. I'll bet that those "custom" rods were either made on a monday or Friday. Just because a product costs less doesn't always mean it's inferior. Given quality components, the chinese can put out a superior product cheaply. Gee, I think thats business 101 but Unamerican. We gotta get more money so we can pay more taxes to support ol shakey's construction projects in the least populous state with the best roads. Don't matter if it's inferior in quality, it's made in good ol USA.
