size..
6500 is quite big for holding all day when a 5500 will have enough line for inshore ...
Unless your getting monsters...
then get 6500

unless you are a smaller guy i like the 6 size, its more versatile.

well i im going to be fishing alot on a kayak and from shore, i wanna be able to throw mir o lures and stuff like that, how much easier is it going to be to through mir o lures with the 5600 over the 6600

dad has a 5500 and I have a 6501, I honestly think it doesn't matter. If you think you are going to be getting into the bigger reds/jacks/tarpon etc. go for the 6601. If its gonna be mostly pups/trout/flounder go for the 5601

Casting lures from a 'Yak????
Get the 5600.
Your wrist will thank you after a thousand casts in a day.

thanks for the advice, im just learning how to use baitcasters,so i think the 5601 might be easier to learn how to cast, am i right in thinking this

Not enough difference in the "cast-ability" to matter, but smaller reel equals smaller nests, if you're still learning baitcasters...;)

I've been throwing baitcasters for quite a few years...I'm not sure I would be trying to throw a mirrow lure with any baitcaster, alot of wind resistance there....that is what line twisters are for...just my two pennies.

its neither but just to open your options a little you should check out the shimano cardiff 400 its low profile and holds enough line for inshore and it casts really far with not a lot of weight
i have 1 and my friend has one and we bought them 2 years ago and ive landed 30+lb snook and hes landed grouper, sailfish, snook, tarpon etc on his and both reels still work like brand new and at $100 its well worth the cash

thanks to RR and VICIII I won an ebay bid for a 5600c3 and I'd have to say it's really nice. I look foward to using it. I'm still trying to decided if I want to buy the CT frame as well.
I chose the 5500 for the smaller size. I figured I'll mostly be using it from a kayak and it holds 200 yards of 12 pound enough for most any fish I'LL catch inshore.

Thanks you two, now I'll be spending money on baitcasters as well:mad: :p

You won't be needing a CT frame for 'yak fishin...Keep the levelwind. ;)
