That's our local news station.

Is this the link you were looking for?

I see a couple of them about that size each year, usually around schools of bonita. No real interest in tussling with one though.

I was in Boca Grande while all that hullabulloo was going on. The shark was cut open and they found 55 pups inside that were estimated to be like 1 week from birth. That's a record gestation as most hammerheads have litters of 20-40. The shark was also estimated to be between 40 and 50 years old. The thing was born in the 1960's for Christ's sake. It's probably older than the guy who murdered it

The stupid macho men were all posing on it the day they got it like they had conquered some beast that was terrorizing women and children. Grow up a$$holes. And they made a point of dragging the poor thing up onto their boat and killing it. pussballs trying to compensate for small-man-syndrome.

Yeah I heard that Yogai. What a tragedy. :--| and a waste :--| Ever see that show Shark Hunters? It's about the east coast vs west catching sharks, killing them, weighing them and hanging them up for show. Oh but, they claim to donate all sharks to the homeless shelter.
I'm sick of people raping the sea for sport. :--|

"Shark Hunters" is not too bad considering that they target makos, blues and thresher sharks, none of which are considered endangered as far as I know. Off SoCal, that's usually the biggest targetable fish. Just my two cents, though. However, down here, there's plenty of other species to go after and that was just a waste. I felt bad the other day because I kept a lemon shark and when I cut her open to bleed the meat, she had 5 pups inside, just about to be born. I quickly pulled them out and all but one of them swam right off.

I'm with ya Yogai, a damn shame killing that female and especially loaded with pups. They serve a purpose in the seas.

As for the SHarkhunters, I like to see the sizes of the sharks as they get to the boat but can't sanction the killing of them. Stupid freaking ego maniacs that are inconsiderate of nature and the role sharks play in the sea.

Yup and I aint no Vet but couldnt he tell that she looked Prego and about to bust?

I love fishn but hate waste,, this includes killing rays, skates and doggies, why do some folks get upset or even mad when they throw food out into the water that these animals eat everyday for a living and when they eat the food *we call it bait* and there happens to be a hook on it that they feel the need to just toss the skate or dog shark on the beach to let it suffer and die.

Fellow fishing folks, if one of these tree huggen libs comes by and takes a picture do you know what kind of ammo that gives them against us.

PS. Don't let me see anyone again toss a dog shark to your dog to just Play with and then tell me he is just playing.
If ya catch it and don't want it then toss it back in the water.

I'm glad PETA hasn't got photos of me torturing that 'cuda that attacked me. That would have given them ammo for years.

I did see a shark show that they got points extra if they got the hook back and got point for each catch but all were released.. It was a better show cause they did not kill the shark..
I was a sweet show... I think it was filmed in the keys.

I think I remember that show Vic. Pretty good. And you're right, they got more points for hook removal rather than cutting the line. Much better than killing them. Adds a little excitement and risk to it. :D
