Does anyone else have gutting hooking problem w/ owner 8/0? Well, I gave those a try for the bast few months. I haven't caught anything but a few skates and doggies on those hooks, and gut hooked a few of them to enuf to quit using them. The 10/0 are better. I wonder why the 8/0s are like that. Those owners are expensive and losing hooks to skates and doggies ain't worth it.

Dam the bad luck.
Let me know when you're in the Norfolk area and I'll take them off your hands. :p

Those are good hooks. Could be that the doggies and skates are not being to aggressive this time of year and are just laying there chewing on the bait.

If ya have ever had experience with those devils then ya know many times they slack the line up and by the time you get tight, they have sucked it down for the most part... :D
Doesn't make sense that a j would guthook less though??

btw, I was referring to the owner 8/0 circle when I used them for striper fishing. As for the gami J 10/0, they're very good and I haven't gut hooked anything as of yet. Totally agree w/ you there DD. But the only thing I don't like about the gami j 10/0 is the point get dull really fast.

I've had skates take circles all the way in. Sometimes they are such light biters that you don't know they are there until they head out for parts unknown. I don't know if it's true, but i've heard that they just come up tova stationary bait and lay there eating it. Wen they think they are done they swim off.
