Well, here it is. the self contained depth finder case for rental skiff fishing. Holds batteries, and your gear. Still need to devise a transom clamp for the thing, but it works. got the sonar at a yard sale for 20 bucks. Guy had upgraded. This isn't state of the art, but will do for rental boats and ice fishing. Just open the lid, put the transducer in the water and turn it on.
Since the unit is attached to the lid if the weather gets really snotty all you have to do is shut the lid. The unit is instantly under cover.
