Can use some assistance locating a manufacturer of odd shaped ice chests.

I'm looking for a relatively narrow one.
12.5" MAX width, length up to 31" and height doesn't matter.

The only ones I can find from the major manufacturers, Igloo, Coleman, Rubbermaid, etc., that meets my specs, are soft sided. No-go.

If I have to, I'll build one, but would rather buy one ready made.

thx.

Ultra-Cool comes real close.

Their 43qt long measures 30x13x14.

Model UC43PL, found it on sale for $140.40

Google "Fisherman's Outfitter" and drop that model # in the site search.

Have you considered a soft sided cooler? I've had real good luck with Polar Bear Coolers.

So much for that bright idea. Working on plan B's. That's ok, I like challenges. :D

Thanks...

You might want to reach out to a retailer anyway, the 13" might be at the largest point, up at the lid . . . That's how my Icy-Tek is . . .the sides look as though they taper inward. Might be well under 12.5 at the bottom.

How deep (or high up as it were) would you say that 12.5 hold hurts ya?

Thanks again sarge.

With this less than bright idea, 12.5" is the limit for the whole vertical.

No big deal. Back the drawing boards.
More than one way to skin a kitty. :)

Ok here's the poor mans way? Get yourself an old cooler and cut horizontally in half with a power saw, so now you have 2 pieces and cut the one piece down to size and get some strong apoxy and screws and water sealer and re attach together to your specifications. Actually to re-attach you could get a strip of fiberglass about 4-6 inches wide x length of cooler inside and screw them in added some washers (pre-drill holes and wrap screws with waterproof tape) and do the same with the bottom end after applying some appoxy and water sealer. Sounds like a garde school experiment, but het it may work :D

:D :D

KT, we think alike. That was plan B about 12 hrs ago. I think I'm up to plan F or G now. Lost count.

Need to do some re-measuring tonight. Need to make sure I'm not making something more complicated than it is. Yeah, been there, done that.

I think plan G should work. *fingers crossed*

Orest. Thanks, but I need one longer chest. Planning on using a few of those little ones too.

Don't get the wrong idea... I like little challenges like this. Find them entertaining actually.

Not sure I understand your question.

When on the beach it'll just have the tow hook on the rear... you know, just in case I run into Hat and he needs help gettin' unstuck. ;) :p :D

Other times it's going to have a ball on the receiver for pulling the boat or utility trailer.
