...and this one is MUCH better than the first one.
It appears that the first one was the last rod made on a Friday afternoon by a disgruntled Chinese sweatshop worker...:rolleyes:
It could also be that after a little casting, I'm more willing to overlook the HDX's seriously mediocre appearance...
In any case, with this HDX, I feel that I have gotten my money's worth.
And, as has been said may times on this site, Randy is a helluva dude, whom I will continue to shop with.

How are you going to mount your reel?? Are you going to mount it straight to the rod or are you going to put a little something under it.
I just got the Daiwa 30SHA today. I mountd it directly to the rod but I think it needs something under it.
Any suggestions?? BStarling suggested heat shrink tubing. :popcorn: :beer:

Seems to me the rubber wrap that's on there is fine, and holds well. I did use a wrap of black tape under the reel foot, but I did that mainly to mark the spot I wanted to put the reel.
