Kinda light rod as far as weight that it will handle. There are better factory rods for the same money that will do more for ya.. With the AVET ya might as well match it up on something nice.. Try to fisnd a used custom or something, it would do ya a lot better.. JMHO.. JAM

I was looking for something to go on a Blue Yonder and ended up getting an OM 12' rated for 3-6 oz ... I really like it too .... been throwing 5 oz with so far no problem ... six should be a piece of cake too ..... 8 might be too much !

Nice rod for a $100 .... I thought about the Surfking, Tsuamia, solaris, and a couple others ....

I Appreciate The Advise. I've Looked High And Low For A Nice Used Custom But They Are Hard To Come By.
If Ya Know Any Body Or A Good A Place To Look Let Me Know Please.

I've Looked At The O/m's And Own A 12' Tsunami (spinning). It Will Be My Back Up For Now. These Conventional Reels Are B/a.
I/m A Lifer Fisherman And I Still Cant Believe How Far I Can Chunk It.. Anyways Thanks Again...

That's it .......... that was the reason I didn't get a surfking ......... handle was too short ..... like 22" or something .......

to match up with that reel go with a Lami XS11MHC or the XS12MHC if you can find one...
