ive´had a ´date ´with a 30 pounder oike now for two years, cant get it to bite, anybody got a tip????

Triple the size of the lure you are using.

In Michigan we would use the biggest minnow or small perch for bait; put a treble hook thru the dorsal fin and a 2 - 2.5 bobber to set the depth it swam. Pike look up or straight ahead for food.

If you are dating fish, you have bigger problems than not being able to catch a pike. Have you tried a split Rapala (the one with three sections so they have a nice action when you reel it in)?

Buy a KICK-TAIL that'l catch em (biggest size in yellow perch color)

caught a bunch of them years ago on the St. Lawrence river with a yellow hellbender plug, fished the edge of weed beds. good luck
