Bet if you check your wallet you have several 1 dollar bills as we all do may only be 6-7 dollars but through the course of a day they do add up
and what happens when you go shopping and keep getting 1 dollar coins as change..I just see a major snafu:D just my 2 cents worth but thats another story all together:p

The strippers are gonna have a hard time with that new money.
You want to get rid of something, loose the penny, its obsolete, you can't by anything for 1 cent.

Govt at it's best...lets make a dollar coin the same size, shape, weight as a quarter and they wonder why it didn't work out:confused:

I hate coins as it is. They are just a pain
to carry around and deal with.

Metal detectors may become too much of an issue. Get rid of the penny first! 1 penny has $.1 of copper in it!

Pennies are no longer made with copper...
Pennies...one my pet peeves.
They price everything like 2.76 or
2.89, etc, etc, so you end up with
like a handful every day. Pennies
are more of a marketing/price gimmick
then anything else. How many times
do you see things prices at 2.99 just
so they can say it was $2.
gas stations are about the worst
at doing that. It is always
.99 something....

get rid of the dollar bill, but make the dollar coin smaller, but very dark, so no one will be confused. susan b. anthony is the biggest disaster because it looks like a quarter. also dollar coins are too bulky for most people.

Got to keep the Dollar Bill! How else can
have a wad of 30 one dollar bills with a 50 bill
over it and front like I have money to
burn!:D :D
P.S. How about that last win over Duke!

Coins are cheaper in the long run as the average life of a dollar bill is about 15-18 months. Compare that to a coin which is more durable and lasts years. Coins are the better investment as far as costs go.
Then there are the various lobby groups who don't want to lose the business of creating our beloved "greenback".
BTW, Canada has been using coins for their Loonies($1) and Twoonies($2) for years.
